About Melba's Heart

At Melba's Heart Charitable Foundation, compassion is not just what we do. It is who we are.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri and rooted in Atlanta, Georgia, Melba built her life around service. In Atlanta, she created community everywhere she went, offering a kind word, a helping hand, and a place of belonging to those who needed it most. Her heart for children and seniors defined her, and her generosity paved the way for others to follow.

Today, we carry that spirit forward. Melba's Heart Charitable Foundation (MCHF) was created to honor her legacy and continue her mission of bringing hope, joy, and dignity to those often overlooked.

Through outreach programs, community partnerships, and acts of everyday kindness, we work to ensure that every child feels supported and every senior feels valued. Our purpose is simple: to spread the kind of love Melba lived by, one that transforms lives, strengthens communities, and reminds us all that compassion can change the world.

Stories That Inspire Us

Hear from our neighbors, leaders, and friends about how we are building a stronger, more vibrant community together through celebration and support.

I am determined to age gracefully and walk upright and in divine health all the days of my life! I successfully completed an 8 week "fall prevention" study through Emory University. My participation showed me weak areas in my body/activities/areas for improvement. Who know being able to spring on your tiptoes aids in falls!? Simple exercises that strengthen your ability to catch yourself and break a fall. Sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone..."
